Please read this entire notice for important information about ordering nucs.
The Central Maryland Beekeeper Association is pleased to announce its 2026 nucleus colony (or “nuc”) sale. We will be selling nucs from our supplier in southern PA again, which we believe are of a superior quality and give you a higher likelihood of producing honey in the first year. The sales of these nucs is a major fundraiser and the proceeds help to fund our teaching apiary, educational outreach, and other programs.
Each nuc includes drawn comb with a laying queen, worker bees, brood, honey, and pollen, enough to get your new colony off to a good start. This year’s nucs consist of five deep (9 ¼”) frames of drawn comb in a ventilated plastic shipping box. These are very strong nucs with high-quality, well-mated queens.
Please order early, as we have already placed our order with the supplier, and will not be able to increase the order.
Cost
- $220 cash or check
- $227 credit card
PO Box 112, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030.
Pickups
You can pick the nuc up at the Baltimore County Agriculture Center, 1114 Shawan Rd., Hunt Valley MD 21030.
Note: If you plan to transport your nucs in a car where loose bees could be a problem, bring a sheet or similar cloth to wrap them in (not plastic—they have to breathe!). A large draw-string laundry bag from WalMart works great.
